Michal Sosna is a visual storyteller
filmmaker / visual artist 

Michal Sosna is a cinematographer, director, and visual artist. Based in Poland. With a strong emphasis on documentary storytelling, he skillfully weaves visual poetry that delves into the depths of human experience, seeking out archetypes that emerge within the fabric of life and social structures (J. Campbell " "The Hero with a Thousand Faces.")

 

Driven by a deep commitment to human rights and the celebration of individual uniqueness, Michal is actively engaged in various feature film and documentary projects on a global scale(Netflix, HBO).

 

Michal has authored two photography books. The first, titled "Woman as Fragile as Bombs," sheds light on women's rights in Poland. His second book, "No Pic No Chat-Autonomy," published in 2021, takes an intimate approach to exploring the lives of transgender people.

He has cooperated with Polish visual artists: Deskur, Woynarowski, Radziszewski, Polska, Doroszuk, Okonski. His personal photographic projects and video arts were exhibited in galleries i.a.: Improper Walls (Vienna), Labirynt (Lublin), F.A.I.T., Bunkier Sztuki (Kraków),  PF (Poznań), Lokal 30 (Warsaw), New Orleans Photo Alliance, London Photographic Association , La Fabrica (Barcelona)

Scholar of Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.

He is a lecturer at the Jagiellonian University, Kraków, Academy of Fine Arts, Kraków and AMA Film Academy.
